On our flights, you may bring your pet aboard the aircraft. We accept dogs and cats that are at least 3 months and 21 days old. Just like you, we want the best for your loyal four-footed friend during the flight. Your pet may only travel with an adult passenger. So read this information carefully and prepare for your journey well in advance.
To transport your pet in the cabin, it will need to be placed in a travel bag or kennel. This will be placed under your seat and, for the safety of your pet, may not be opened or moved during the flight. In addition to your pre-registered pet, you can also bring 1 piece of hand luggage with you in the cabin.
All pet carriers must meet the following conditions:
Are you allergic to cats or dogs and are you seated close to a pet? Let the crew know, so they can consider the options.
You can transport your pet in our hold. This is a special heated section provided with climate and air pressure control so that you can be assured that your dog or cat is travelling as comfortably as possible.
For the safety of your pet, it is important that the kennel meets the legal requirements set by the IATA (International Air Transport Association). Ask your pet shop for more information about these permitted kennels.
As a responsible pet owner, you want to have your dog or cat transported as comfortably as possible during the flight. This is why it is important for the kennel or travel bag to be large enough for your dog or cat to be able to stand up in it (without touching the top), to be able to turn around, and to be able to lie down comfortably. The kennel must have a fiberglass or rigid plastic shell. A kennel made of metal or wood is not allowed. Place a soft blanket, towel or some newspapers on the bottom of the kennel. For reasons of safety, toys cannot be transported in the kennel.
For flights from the Netherlands:
Special kennels can be purchased from Schiphol Services (Baggage Storage). A kennel must offer your dog or cat enough space to stand (without touching the top), to turn and to lie comfortably. The kennel may not be made of metal or wood. The bottom of the kennel must be covered in a blanket or newspaper. For reasons of safety, it is not allowed to transport toys, stuffed animals, knuckle bones, etc. in the kennel. Kennels are not available for purchase at Rotterdam Airport or Eindhoven Airport.

For flights from Paris-Orly:
The company Bagages du Monde, located at Orly Sud, Porte G on the Arrivals Halls level, specialises in the transport of special packages. For information on kennels, call +33 1 49 78 97 75.
Your dog or cat also has to be accompanied with a passport: ‘the pet passport’. This must be issued by an authorised veterinarian. The passport must contain the following information:
In order to fly with your pet, your pet must have been microchipped with an electronic identification system (transponder). If your pet received a clearly visible tattoo prior to 3 July 2011, your pet can also travel within the European Union using the information in this tattoo.
If you are flying to Malta with a dog, your pet must be treated for tapeworm between 5 days and 24 hours before departure.
