Mix of architectures

Armenia has been occupied many times over the centuries. A boisterous history where lots has been lost but that has also formed the city into an interesting architectural mix. You’ll see many external influences. Visit the beautiful Republic square, where nights are cosy around the famous ‘singing fountains’. And what about the stunning blue mosque? An Iranian structure that's over 250 years old.

For the best view over the city you can climb the famous ‘Cascade’. This big staircase complex connects the city centre with the higher up residential area. At night you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view over the illuminated city.  Also a great moment to decide what you want to see the next day. One of the many museums for example. Taking an interest in Armenia’s rich and vivid history is a must when you visit this country. The historical museum and the Matenadaran - the museum full of ancient scrolls - are a good start. 

Bazaars and restaurants

Looking for some modern Armenian culture? Visit one of the many bazaars and jumble sales that are scattered all over the city. This is also where you’ll meet the friendly Armenians. Roaming around the city like that will make you hungry. Luckily the Armenian cuisine is great and Yerevan is full of cosy bars and restaurants. The food is influenced by Asian, European and Middle Eastern cuisine and is very tasty. When will you fly to Yerevan?
