Book your plane ticket to Bastia

Bastia is Corsica’s second city and is located in the most northerly tip of the island. This fairly large historic port city consists of two parts, namely, Terra Vecchia and Terra Nuova (old land and new land). There’s also a lot more to experience than the picturesque houses, narrow, winding alleys, and lively squares. Both in Bastia itself, and throughout the unique island of Corsica. Are you going to join us?

The best of Bastia

In the old town, you can delight in losing yourself in the narrow alleys, and it is the perfect place to try local delicacies. The city is known for its local wines and liqueurs, but before you get started, you should get a bite to eat! Fortunately, there is a large market at the weekends where you can try everything. How about brocciu (goat’s cheese or sheep’s milk) and porcu nustrale (local pork), which is used to make ham, coppa and lonzu. Perhaps the tastiest of all are migliaccioli, crepes with cheese. They’re freshly made and extremely delicious!

Mountains or beach?

Corsica is in line with Rome as the crow flies, which means it is a good place to stay at almost any time of the year. The island is blessed with several delightful beaches with white sands and clear blue water. It’s fun to visit the beach in Ostriconi, as there are wild cows roaming around it, so make sure to bring your camera! Had enough of relaxing on the coast? Many people visit Corsica for its inland areas, and splendid mountains and hills which are great for walking. This is the perfect recipe for two holidays in one: relaxed and active!

Splendid Cap Corse

On the most northerly tip of Corsica, you can find the peninsula of Cap Corse. This wild natural area with its typical Corsican undergrowth is great fun to cross in a couple of hours in your rental car. While you are treated to a splendid view, on the way you will discover small villages on hills, wonderful bays, and medieval castles and ruins. Cap Corse is also well-known for the white Mattèi windmills with red roofs. Yes, you read it right. You can have a great holiday on Corsica. When are you leaving?
