Lesbos’ must-see sights 

Lesbos had plenty of special places. You can make a trip out to Molyvos castle, for example. This medieval fortress is situated high up on a hill. You’ll find yourself climbing up through narrow streets with many charming shops. Up top, you’ll enjoy stunning views over the sea. Make sure you also visit the Archaeological Museum in Mytilini. Here, you’ll find some of the prettiest mosaics, old coins and statues. Or visit the olive oil museum in Agia Paraskevi. Here, you can learn how Lesbos’ famous olive oil is made – while of course sampling various types of that same oil.

Before your departure to Lesbos, here are a few handy things to know. First of all: how long is the flight to Lesbos? With Transavia, your direct flight to Lesbos will take about 3.5 hours. You’ll land at Mytilene International Airport (MJT), which is situated on the east side of the island. From Lesbos Airport, it’s very easy to reach your destination either by bus, taxi, or rental car. 

What is the weather like on Lesbos? In summer, it gets nice and sunny here, with temperatures hovering between 25 °C – 35 °C. Spring and autumn are comfortable, with temperatures around 20 °C. Winters are mild, varying from 8 °C – 15 °C. Tip: make sure you pack an extra sweater for the spring evenings, as things may cool off a bit!
