What items are prohibited in your checked baggage?

These items should never be taken on a trip:

  • Firearms and guns that you have not pre-registered with our Service Centre.
  • Replica firearms and guns, toy guns
  • Explosive and flammable substances
  • Chemicals and poisons
  • Self-balancing devices like hoverboards, airboards, oxboards, e-skates, waveboards and aqua scooters.

These items are only allowed in your checked baggage under certain conditions:

Sharp objects, such as razors, scissors and knives
Razors, nail clippers and scissors are allowed in your checked baggage. Knives such as kitchen knives are also allowed in your checked baggage provided that they are properly packed.

Electrical devices
You are allowed to bring electrical devices with a plug, such as a hairdryer or curling iron, in your cabin baggage as well as in your checked baggage.

Some electrical devices have lithium batteries. Devices like laptops, telephones, e-readers, e-cigarettes and vapes have these batteries. Due to safety on board, you should bring them in your hand luggage.

If you want to put electrical appliances in your checked baggage, make sure to disconnect the battery from the device, if possible. If it is not possible, switch off the device. For more information, see our FAQ on baggage rules for electrical devices.

Batteries and power banks
Put loose batteries, for example of your laptop or camera, in your hand luggage. Read more about the rules for loose batteries including lithium batteries here.

E-cigarettes, e-pipes and (disposable) vapes
You cannot bring e-cigarettes, e-pipes and vapes in your checked baggage. You must carry these devices with you. Always take these in your hand luggage.

AirTags
You can take an AirTag both in your cabin baggage and in your checked baggage.

Bringing sports weapons and ammunition on the plane
Sports weapons and ammunition may only be transported in the hold if you register them with our Service Centre at least 72 hours before departure. Please read the conditions for taking your sports weapons with you before departure.
