What can you expect at the airport?
- You can use your own wheelchair up to the check-in desk or gate. From there your wheelchair will be transported as hold luggage.
- If you have requested assistance in advance, the airport staff will ensure you have the right assistance to and from the airplane.
- You are personally responsible for preparing your wheelchair for travel. Make sure all loose wheelchair parts (such as a battery) are disconnected before you check in for your flight. At airports we do not have tools to disassemble your wheelchair. Tip: bring something with you, such as tie wraps, so you can attach the loose parts to your wheelchair.
- After the flight, the airport staff will help you to the arrivals hall. There, you can collect your wheelchair from the ‘odd size’ baggage carousel.
